CREST (Center for Research in Education and Simulation Technologies) is an associated research branch of SimPORTAL, University of Minnesota Medical School. CREST is directed by
    Robert M. Sweet, MD
    Assistant Professor, Urologic Surgery
    Director of Simulation Programs

Mission Statement:

To be a world leader in the research and development of novel curricula and simulation models to help drive the future of health-care professional education.

CREST has collaboration with the following organizations:

  • Department of Urologic and General Surgery
  • Department of Pathology
  • Fairview Health System
  • Minnesota Supercomputing Institute
  • Mechanical Engineering: Material Property testing and Hardware development/support
  • Scholars from the School of Education Psychology   (Curriculum and validation/outcomes study design)
  • Industry Partners-pursuing strategic partnerships

MMVR 2008 Conference Results

We have heard that four papers submitted from SimPORTAL and CREST researchers have been accepted as posters in Medicine Meets Virtual Reality (MMVR) 2008.

ACS Level 1 Education Institute Application
Aug 1, 2007
We have submitted an over 300-page application form for the establishment of an ACS accredited Level 1 Educational Institute. Thanks to the efforts of our staff members and the support from related departments and institutes!
